Kicking Procedure

Each contestant receives (from the 12-yard line.)

  • three practice kicks
  • followed by 15 consecutive kicking attempts
  • Top Corners are worth 20 points
  • Bottom Corners are worth 10 points
  • Centre section is worth 5 points
  • Missing net or ball striking yellow goal posts and not continuing into net is 0 points

If the ball hits the divider bar(s) and continues into the net, points are awarded based on where it enters (ie. Hits the divider bar and continues below and into bottom corner – 10 pts.)

If the ball hits the divider bar(s) and does not continue into net – 5 points

If the ball misses net or hits the yellow goalpost standards and does not continue into net – 0 pts.

  • Ball must be struck with the foot in one motion
  • Ball must completely cross the goal line to count (unless it hits divider bar(s) as mentioned above)
  • After ball is placed, if the ball is touched by player and the ball moves at all, it counts as an attempt
  • If player falls behind the kicking line, but ball does not move, does not count as an attempt.
  • If player touches or crosses the plane of the kicking line, counts as an attempt
  • No rebounds

In the event a tie breaker is necessary (after 15 kicks),
Each tied competitor will be given three kicks three yards behind the penalty kick line.
If they are still tied, the players will be given three more kicks six yards behind the penalty line (the “18”). If they still remain tied, the players will be given three more kicks nine yards behind the penalty line. If they are still tied, the players are to remain at this position (given three kicks consecutively) until the tie is finally broken.
