TORONTO FC BUS TRIP - Proposal 2011

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to organize a bus trip for our Minor Soccer players to a Toronto FC game in the 2011 season. Paisley will be sending a letter out to parents shortly regarding this, as the Toronto FC requires a large deposit when you book a game at the group rates. We will be asking our parents for a refundable deposit when they sign up to join us next year.

We are estimating ticket prices at $35.00/person and a bus to be about $22.00/person (based on full occupancy). The bigger the group that travels, the cheaper the ticket prices get. Paisley Minor Soccer would like to invite both Cargill Minor Soccer and Walkerton Minor Soccer to join us if you are interested.

Please talk it over with other members of your executive and parents. If you could please indicate if there is an interest sooner rather than later that would be much appreciated. If you have any questions or suggestions please send them along.

Take Care and thanks for all your hard work!

Corien Sluys, Paisley Minor Soccer

Walkerton Minor Soccer Registration Policy

To assist with registering our teams and players for organizing and insurance purposes a policy with regard to registration dates and deadlines will be enforced.

Registration will occur in February and March.  Advertising will be done locally, on the website and an attempt will be made to contact players from the previous year to inform them of the registration dates.

For 2010, the late fee will be in effect after March 31st. The final registration date will be March 27th, all paperwork needs to be completed by this time. If the players are from out of town late payment can be arranged but the registration form needs to be completed.

The maximum and minimum number of players for each age division will be determined by the executive. Once the maximum number of players has been reached, players seeking registration will be placed on a waiting list, this will be done before March 27th. If the minimum number of players have not been met and additional players are needed an exception may be made.

If you were looking to play a more competitive (higher) level of soccer. Here are some options. Any player from the region may try out.

Walkerton will play as part of South West Regional Soccer Association again in 2010 summer season.
  • Our Lakeshore League, (SWRSL)which involves the U12 to U20 leagues, will be expanding and will be playing as part of the South West Regional Soccer League this year. All the teams from last year will be involved with the possibility of adding teams from other nearby communities as well (possibly Durham, Mount Forest). This should especially help our older leagues to have more competition!
  • Our younger teams will continue in the Local League Loop with at least the same teams / communities as last year.

  • We welcome input and help from all interested parties. We are always looking to add to our successful programme. If people have ideas for fundraising ideas, please email info@walkertonsoccer.ca or phone our President Andrea Barclay 519-367-2260. We aim to keep registration fees reasonable while improving the opportunities, equipment, fields, etc. for our players!

  • We are looking for additional sponsors for our teams. We had many fabulous community businesses come on board in the last two years, and welcome new sponsors to support our youth and advertise your business in Bruce and Grey counties (and beyond).

Coaching Clinics and Referee Clinics are available to all Walkerton Soccer participants / coaches / officials. Check the web for upcoming clinics at www.ontariosoccer.net As part of the SWRSL alignment, other clinics will be made available too!
